Domenica Bucalo is a visual correspondent for Vogue Italia and PhotoVogue since 2010

She lives in Brooklyn with her husband and their son Milo Leon

a visionary creative, a visual artists with a wide range of experience in design, creation and development of visual projects.

 

she has worked in developing high - end residential projects, real estate boutique offices and visual window display design for the music world, art directing and styling  photo shooting for interiors editorial and life style. Projects

 

Domenica has extensive knowledge, experience and shows the utmost care in art directing projects. Examples are her interiors creations for the launches of restaurants, as well as the development and styling of private events, record release party for the music business, special dinner events, visual presentation.

 

Her work has been featured internationally in books, catalogues and magazines such as, Flash Art, Village Voice, Repubblica, Aperture, and Intervista, Vogue Italia, to name a few. As well as in major exhibition including “Contemporaneo DOC/DOCVA” at the Museo Nazionale delle Arti del XXI Secolo in Rome; “Photomedia Europe” at the Palazzo della Triennale in Milano; “La Photographie Italienne Contemporaine” at the Galerie du Chateau D’eau in Toulouse; “Huesca Imagen” in Zaragoza, Spain; “From pencil to Laser” at the Italian Cultural Institute of San Francisco; the International Festival of Photography in Rome; the Ascona Museum of Contemporary Art in Switzerland, Underground Gallery New York. From May to October 2022 at MAMbo, Museum of Modern Art, Bologna  "No, Neon, No Cry” exhibit. In "Sacred Pause, Sacred Fertilizer'' Nevelson Chapel Gallery, September 2022 to January 2023 and one of the artist's panel speakers. In 2022 Bucalo worked with Note di Sguardi on a billboard project in Bologna, Cervia and Berlin. A guest artist of their Residency Program.

Guest participant/speaker at Yale CCAM - Yale University, “Ultra Space Symposium: Arakawa & Gins”. Bucalo’s work is included in the volume “Ultra Space Symposium: Arakawa & Gins”, by Yale CCAM launched at their 2025 Symposium.

 

.Her aim to narrate a spatial experience through a comprehensive approach, delivers poetic functional environments.They are informed with contemporary culture, a strong sense of social awareness and knowledge of history.
